Hobby Lobby ruling should be aborted

Religion wins. Science loses. And we're reminded once more that money talks and democracy walks.

With a metaphorical gut punch to pregnant women everywhere, the U.S Supreme Court today closed out this year’s session with a bang, ruling in favor of craft chain Hobby Lobby, which objected to PPACA’s contraceptive mandate on the grounds of “religious freedom.”

While countries across the globe long shackled by the church — particularly in the Middle East — fight to break free from their bonds, it’s clear we can’t retreat back to the Dark Ages of religious rule fast enough. While Fox News pundits wring their hands with worry over Muslims and sharia law, no one frets over the similarly sinister religious fundamentalism creeping into our lives. Today we dictate health care for women, tomorrow we tell them how to dress (hjjabs or burqas anyone?)
