I have good news and bad news for financial professionals who work with retirement plan sponsors. This news — along with a significant opportunity — comes from results of Supporting Retirement Savings, a survey of retirement plan sponsors conducted by Brightworks Partners for The Principal Knowledge Center

First, the good news. Sponsors of retirement plans are very invested in participant outcomes — whether or not participants are saving enough to retire successfully. In fact, about two-thirds of plan sponsors say they measure the success of their 401(k) plan by the extent to which it gets participants on track to a successful retirement.
