A group of retirement plan advisory firms has gotten together to acquire Global Retirement Partners, LLP.

The firm, which provides consulting services on retirement plans to more than 100 advisors throughout the country, was established in 2014 when Bill Chetney, former head of LPL Retirement Partners, departed LPL, acquired some of the assets from Financial Telesis, an independent broker-dealer focused on retirement plan consulting, and formed GRP — which then partnered with LPL's hybrid RIA platform.

GRP, headed by Chetney, provides retirement plan infrastructure, compliance, commissioning, and personnel to advisors who specialize in the retirement space. It will continue to be associated with LPL.
