Is your current employment part of a career, or is it “just a job”? That’s the question asked in a recent survey commissioned by Mercer, a global consulting firm, which found that two-thirds of workers believe their current occupation represents a career, while one-third said it was just a job to make money.

The percentage of workers who feel good about their work would be even greater if employers took steps to communicate with employees about their performance and role within the organization, Mercer argues.
