Uninsured rate for women drops dramatically

Between 2013 and 2014, according to data analyzed by the Guttmacher Institute, the uninsured rate for women between the ages of 15 and 44 dropped from 17.9 percent to 13.9 percent.

Survey after survey has demonstrated the dramatic effect the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act has had on the state of American health care. The number of uninsured adults and children has plummeted, notably in states that accepted a federally-funded expansion of Medicaid.

And now, a new study displays the effect the PPACA has had on women of child-bearing age. Between 2013 and 2014, according to data analyzed by the Guttmacher Institute, the uninsured rate for women between the ages of 15 and 44 dropped from 17.9 percent to 13.9 percent. The rate has presumably dropped further throughout 2015.
