Managed services programs not just for large businesses anymore
An integrated total talent approach via a managed services program provider is not only available, but often more quickly accessible to smaller organization.
Perhaps more easily and more affordable than they think, mid-sized employers can integrate the management of all types of talent –from full-time salaried employees to gig workers — using an outsource provider, according to Randstad Sourceright’s white paper, “Integrated MSP: Delivering large enterprise advantages to mid-sized companies.”
“If you find yourself struggling to compete for talent as a mid-sized organization, there is good news: It is possible to apply a forward-thinking approach without the deep pockets or resources of a global enterprise,” writes the paper’s author, Alp Perahya, executive vice president of Randstad Sourceright, North America.
An integrated total talent approach via a managed services program provider is not only available, but often more quickly accessible to smaller organizations as compared to their larger corporate counterparts, Perahya writes. Aside from greatly simplifying interactions with a single point of contact for talent management, the relationship offers significant business advantages, including the ability to immediately tap into permanent, contingent, freelance and contractor talent as business demands surface.
“By putting every source of available talent under one total talent umbrella, an organization can address needs from a candidate pool that includes all available workers,” he writes. “This means faster hires, greater access to higher quality of talent, and improved visibility and cost control.”
In an integrated MSP for a mid-sized company, the provider acts as an internal partner, with staff placed in-house, either physically or virtually, according to Perahya.
“This removes the burden of managing the talent supply from the client, gives the client greater access to talent, and enables them to take advantage of the technology, business intelligence and expertise that only a dedicated provider can deliver,” he writes.
This also provides a mid-sized company with a high level of scalability, as the team can ramp up or draw down quickly based on demand.
“Moving forward, integration will become a priority as more and more companies seek to better compete for scarce workers,” Perahya writes. “If you find yourself managing workforce decisions in a mid-sized company, start the total talent conversation now. It’s an investment that will pay off, both in near-term efficiency and long-term growth.”
