Looking to improve the diversity of your organization but don't know where to start? You're in luck, with data from Great Place to Work analyzed by Fortune to arrive at workplaces that provide the best environment for women, people of color, LGBTQ people, employees who are Boomers or older, and people who have disabilities. The survey asked employees "about the trust, pride and camaraderie they experience in their workplace, and how those experiences compare to their colleagues' reports of the same workplaces," adding that "Great Place to Work also consider[s] employees' daily experiences of innovation, the company's values, and the effectiveness of their leaders, to ensure they're consistently experienced." The survey also found in analyzing the data that women are 26 times more likely than men to feel their work has meaning and isn't "just a job" and that men are 18 times more likely than women to feel everyone has the opportunity for special recognition. In addition, the data indicate that differences in race/ethnicity predict a workplace 40 times better than peers; whether one has a disability predicts a 19 times different experience; sexual orientation predicts a 13 times different workplace experience; and gender predicts a 4 times workplace difference. Check out the slideshow above to see 10 companies that have mastered diversity, with the percentage of employee ratings on six different criteria: great challenges, great atmosphere, great rewards, great pride, great communication and great bosses.
