A bright spot in these uncertain times is that many companies that touch on the employee benefits industry are creating tools and products to help people deal with COVID-19. Here's a sampling of what came across our (remote) desk:

SWORD Health announced the launch of a virtual event aggregator, SessionBot. It brings together virtual sessions from employee benefits and digital health conferences such as the recently-cancelled Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference, National Business Group on Health conference and the Conference Board's Employee Healthcare Conference, and standalone vendor sessions.The initiative will run for at least the Spring conference season.

SixFifty announced the release of free automated legal tools to help businesses manage coronavirus-related employment issues. The COVID-19 tools include automated policies developed by Wilson Sonsini's  employment attorneys and a questionnaire system that can gather information from employees impacted by COVID-19, manage tasks and automate important communications. Companies can track each response, create workflows to address any issues that arise and automate employee communications.

PC Matic announced it will offer PC Matic Pro free of charge to businesses with 10 or more remote workstations, and all onboarding and support services will be available at no charge. Businesses who take advantage of this offer will have access to the solution until June 30, 2020. PC Matic Pro uses real-time whitelist technology to block all unwanted and unsafe programs from executing on workstations and offers a secure cloud-based portal for employers to access and manage workstations.

Oregon Recovers launched OregonRecoveryNetwork.org to provide a centralized source of resources for the Oregon recovery community.  The site was launched in partnership with Google. OregonRecoveryNetwork.org aims to offer information and resources to help people in recovery, who depend on in-person meetings that are critical to their recovery. Even when meetings are offered virtually, many in recovery don't have access to or aren't aware of online and telephone support services.

OptimizeRx Corp. has launched a free interactive text message alert program available to the general public that delivers COVID-19 information issued by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) directly to any SMS-enabled mobile device.This new consumer message alert service complements the recently launched OptimizeRx CDC alert system for healthcare providers.

MeMD is offering Total Telehealth-Rapid Response, which provides 90-day access to virtual telehealth services.Once implemented, a company's employees can connect with providers via computer or mobile device for coronavirus screening, treatment of minor illnesses and injuries, or mental or emotional health concerns. Companies can sign up for the Total Telehealth-Rapid Response offering through May 31.

HealthJoy announced it will create a set of specialized resources in its mobile app to respond to escalating member questions about the novel coronavirus causing the disease COVID-19. HealthJoy will add a coronavirus support card to its app, which displays employee benefits in a digital wallet. The coronavirus card will include information directly from the CDC regarding support and testing, as well as contact information to connect members to live support from a health care concierge.

Extensis Group announced the launch of Relief Navigator, a site designed to compile emergency funding & relief programs for small and medium sized businesses.Relief Navigator reviews and summarizes the resources available in each program as well as those coming online – including how to apply for assistance and who to contact. The site currently focuses on the Tri-State Area and Pennsylvania, with plans to expand to other states in the coming weeks.

Conversion Labs has launched its new telemedicine brand, SOSRx. SOSRx is designed to deliver specially formulated combinations of prescription medication and over-the-counter supplies for use in disaster scenarios or times of emergency.The first product in the SOSRx lineup is the SOSRx Disaster Pack, a 'Grab & Go' portable kit that includes life-saving treatments and protections against flu epidemics, bacterial outbreaks, bioterrorism and radiation exposure.

Collective Health launched a COVID-19 risk assessment survey. Built with guidance from in-house medical experts and per recommendations from the CDC, it features a dynamic tracker that updates users' journeys and results; and for members, offers resources that route to the best possible next steps, including immediate support from Collective Health Member Advocates, telemedicine services, and connections with Collective Health's clinical team.

AALU, the Association for Advanced Life Underwriting, and GAMA International launched the COVID-19 Action Center. The Action Center features best practices and tools for advisors to navigate this time for their businesses and their clients. It includes timely updates on COVID-19, member insight on remote work or client management, and the latest policy news that will impact the profession.
