I live in NYC, the heart of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S. I'm not sure about you, but after being on lockdown for weeks and counting, I need something to look forward to. For me, one of those things is the virtual BenefitsPRO Broker Expo, coming up in August.

"Necessity is the mother of invention" is an English-language proverb. It means, roughly, that the primary driving force for most new inventions is a need. This is one of the biggest reason's I'm looking forward to the 2nd annual Fast & Furious session at the Expo. I've found that during this quarantine, everyone has gotten extra creative about how they do business, how they get the word out to people and how they support clients and colleagues, utilizing strategies that have never really been done before. Why? Because there has never been the need to do business in this way before.

Join Susan for her  BenefitsPRO Broker Expo virtual session, "Fast and furious" Wednesday, August 19 at 3:45 PM.

I'm excited that this session is going to be even bigger and better than last year, because we are going to get a whole new host of ideas shared from people all over the country.

Here's how it works:

You: Come prepared with your best 60-second marketing idea that has helped you take your business to the next level or differentiated you from the pack. Hop in line, take the mic and share your best idea!

Judges: I have compiled a panel of stellar judges that include last year's winner, Christopher Yarn; NAHU National Trustee, Kelly Fristoe; and legendary benefits guru, Rachel Miner. These individuals have pretty much seen it all, and know how to focus in on great ideas.

Me: I've attended these conferences for years, and I know you guys (and girls, but more guys) like to talk. I get to be your fearless moderator, who takes great pride in shutting you down when you hit 60 sections so that you can pass the baton to the person behind you. Remember the concept: Be brief, be bold and be gone!

After all the ideas have been presented, the Fast & Furious Crew will deliberate and select the top three ideas that were shared. These ideas will be shared again and then the audience will vote on the top idea.

The winner will walk out with a fabulous prize, dethrone Yarn, and wear the crown until next year!

This was the session that everyone was talking about after last year's show, so make sure you don't miss out this year!

As Albert Einstein said, "The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results." Come to this session, get some fresh, new ideas and get on the "Sane train" for 4th quarter!
