Walmart to sell Medicare Advantage plans from Clover Health
UnitedHealth, Kansas City Blue and CNO also have Medicare plan news.
Walmart has agreed to offer Medicare Advantage plans from Clover Health in eight counties in Georgia.
The counties are home to about 500,000 people who are eligible for Medicare, according to Clover.
Clover is a San Francisco-based insurer that provides high-tech Medicare plans.

The plans Clover sells through Walmart will be the LiveHealthy: Clover Powered, Walmart Enhanced (PPO), and LiveHealthy LI: Clover Powered, Walmart Enhanced (PPO) plans.
Clover plan enrollees in the Atlanta area will have in-network access to 31 hospitals and about 8,000 providers.

An arm of UnitedHealth Group is adding a new narrow network health plan aimed at employers in the Kansas City, Missouri, area.
The Core Essentials plan’s network includes Saint Luke’s Health System and Children’s Mercy Kansas City.
The new plan will be available Jan. 1 to fully insured and self-funded employers in Johnson County and Wyandotte County in Kansas, and in Clay County, Jackson County and Platte County in Missouri.
“Employers can also access the plan if a majority of their employees live in these five counties, even if their offices or facilities are located in other counties in Kansas and Missouri,” UnitedHealth says.
Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas City has introduced individual major medical policies that will be available through the Affordable Care Act public exchange programs for Kansas and Missouri for 2021.
The policies will be able in Johnson County and Wyandotte County on the Kansas City of the market, and in Clay County, Jackson County and Platte County on the Missouri side.
One of policy features is access to Spira Care, a program that offers enrollees access to soup-to-nuts primary care clinics.
Another feature is access to Mindful by Blue KC, a behavioral health program.
CNO Financial Group has added myHealthPolicy, a Medicare Advantage plan sales website.
Consumers can use the site to get access to about 2,000 live-human Medicare Advantage plan agents, CNO says.
