As we hunker down amid the latest surge in COVID-19 outbreaks, returning to the office is the last thing on many employees’ minds. For workers who have an established rapport with their teammates, keeping the connection in the online environment is a bit easier. But what about employees newly hired into this virtual world?

A recent survey from Tallo asked college students about their willingness to accept a remote position. Recognizing the realities of the current economy, the majority say they would, but that doesn’t mean they’re happy about it. Among Gen Z respondents surveyed, 45% feel the WFH environment could hinder their career progression, and three-quarters value time spent with colleagues in the office.
