The employee benefits and employer-sponsored retirement industry have been busy. Here are a few items of interest that may or may not have been on your radar.

T. Rowe Price has added two new hires to its U.S. Institutional Relationship Management team. Lesley Nettles has joined the firm as Senior Public Funds Defined Benefit Specialist, and Charles “Chuck” Turgeon, CFA, as Senior Institutional Business Development Executive, supporting the Central Region.

Prudential Financial is partnering with the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs to make its financial resources available to the military community beginning March 2021. These will include access to a customized portal, a credit counseling and debt management session, and financial education seminars.

Prudential Financial appointed Caroline Feeney as CEO of its U.S. Insurance & Retirement Businesses. Feeney will be responsible for driving growth across the consolidated portfolio of U.S. businesses, while ensuring alignment with PGIM, the company’s asset management business.

The Pharmaceutical Care Management Association (PCMA) is announcing two new additions to its Regulatory Affairs and Research teams. Debjani Mukherjee joins PCMA as a Senior Director of Regulatory Affairs. Brianna Jones is joining PCMA as a Manager of Research.

The Board of Directors of New York Life welcomed Claire L. Babineaux-Fontenot and Paula A. Steiner to the Board. Babineaux-Fontenot is CEO of Feeding America, the nation’s largest domestic hunger-relief organization, and Steiner is the former CEO of mutual health insurer Health Care Service Corporation.

Mercer Global Advisors announced the following acquisitions:

Employees of insurance brokerage Keenan contributed $42,349 to charitable causes, with funds from the company boosting the total to $64,099. Causes supported included Feeding Children Everywhere; California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Relief Fund; and more.

HR Acuity announced the launch of empowER, a professional online community created exclusively for employee relations practitioners. All employee relations professionals can request to join the site.

GreatBizTools has been named an IDC Innovator in a newly published report, IDC Innovators: Virtual Interview and Assessment Technology for Remote Hiring, 2020. It is one of four companies featured that are addressing the need for virtual interview and assessment technology for remote hiring.

Employee Navigator announced it has raised $34 million in growth equity funding from JMI Equity. The minority investment will go towards hiring across all functions and expanding Employee Navigator’s product offerings.

DPL Financial Partners announced a $26 million combined equity capital investment from its initial investor, Eldridge, and Atlas Merchant Capital, the private investment firm founded by Bob Diamond and David Schamis.

Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) announced public disciplinary actions against 24 current or former CFP professionals: six public censures, 10 suspensions, and eight revocations. The basis for each decision  may be found on CFP Board’s website.

American Retirement Association announced a new slate of officers on its Board of Directors:

They are joined on the 2021 ARA Board by At-Large Members Samuel Brandwein, QPA, QPFC of Morgan Stanley; Tamara Indianer, CRES of Lincoln Investment Planning, Inc.; and Marjorie Mann, CPSP of Florida Power & Light Company; as well as by two Senatorial Representatives from each of ARA’s member organizations.
