The CDC recently released new guidance for the general public regarding mask-wearing and quarantining for individuals who have received both doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. This new guidance is important for employers whose employees are working in-person and for employers in certain industries who may have fully vaccinated employees.
No quarantine required for fully vaccinated individuals
Individuals who are fully vaccinated and who are subsequently exposed to COVID-19 are no longer required to quarantine if certain criteria are met. The criteria are: (1) the individual is fully vaccinated and at least two weeks have passed since he or she received their second dose of the vaccine; (2) less than three months have passed since he or she received the last dose of the vaccine; and (3) he or she has remained asymptomatic since the COVID-19 exposure.
