What’s the good news, ladies? February

Many people looked to find the biggest rock to climb under during 2020, but not Liz, Dawn and Elise Ann.

When I reflect on the three women I get to introduce you to this month, the words that come to mind are tenacious, inventive and opportunistic.  Many people looked to find the biggest rock to climb under during 2020, but not Liz, Dawn and Elise Ann.  These ladies took the bull by the horns and made some lemonade!  The more I talk to people in 2021, there is a spark.  The ones who embraced what everyone was going through in 202 and pivoted are the ones that are really starting off 2021 with a bang!  Get ready to be inspired. I know I am!

Liz Frayer, Intrepid

“As part of a culture-driven business, I was challenged to maintain and elevate our team dynamic despite a worldwide pandemic. It’s very difficult to keep a closeness at the same time as physical distance. However, “creativity is birthed from necessity” as they say. Client discussions in our parking deck, distanced field days, virtual book clubs, outdoor scavenger hunts and Feel Good Fridays have become part of our new, expanded team activities. We sell insurance, but we’re in the people business.  Keeping employees happy, healthy, and most of all, connected, is my biggest accomplishment this past year.”

Dawn McFarland, M & M Benefit Solutions Insurance Services

“2020 was such an eye opener for me, as it was for many.  I have spent a lot of timevolunteering in my industry and it took several years for me to find the right entrepreneurial fit.  Now that I have, helping people navigate their Medicare options, I can relate to the saying “love what you do for a living and it will never be a job!”

I believe in giving back more than I take and have recently been approved as a community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association, in addition to the volunteer work I do for NAHU and CAHU.

Many in my network were stating a word for 2021 vs. a resolution.  I struggled to relate to just a word.  Then I entered a guided meditation, that made the noise move to the side, and I saw my word: awe.

I have just returned from my very first business retreat with like-minded individuals looking towards the same goals.  It was incredible and a great start to a year filled with moments of awe.

I hope that we all get to be awed by the healing and joy of 2021!”

Elise Ann Daniel, AFC®, Daniel Insurance, LLC

“The past year has been an exciting one for my business.

I implemented a new CRM and hired a fabulous new assistant who has been instrumental in coordinating our new policies and procedures. Successfully conducting my business in a virtual environment that is comfortable for my clients and productive for me has improved my time management.  Our business is thriving with these changes and I find that I have more time to create meaningful relationships with my clients and peers.

Continually learning is a passion of mine and earning my Master’s degree in Family Financial Planning and accreditation as Financial Counselor has been key in helping clients navigate some tough times this past year.  I pride myself on being the best resource for my clients and I am so grateful to work in this amazing industry and to be helping people every day.”

As always, make sure you connect me to the dynamic woman in your life who have that “it” factor!  I would love to connect and highlight them this year, so drop me a line at scombs@combsandco.com!  Looking forward to seeing many of you at the Virtual NAHU CapCon this month!  Here’s to everyone crushing their goals for 2021.
