While you were busy accomplishing the many tasks that advisors, employers, and brokers must do at this time of year, the employee benefits industry was launching new and enhanced tools and solutions. Here’s a few we’ve learned of recently.

Wellbeats announced the launch of a new user interface and member experience aimed at delivering a more personalized path to wellbeing. It includes enhanced search capabilities and the ability to customize a user’s wellness journey.

Topia announced its remote work solution coming on top of the Topia One platform. Planned for formal release in early 2022, and with multiple customers signed up, Topia’s remote work offering uses configurable workflows and built-in compliance logic aims to help organizations manage the full employee lifecycle of remote work.

StrataTech Education Group announced the launch of a virtual reality training program called OcuWeld. The program, which uses Oculus Quest 2 technology, is a virtual reality welding simulator designed by welding instructors for welding students to practice welding skills outside of the classroom, including prepping, grinding, and joining materials in a virtual environment.

OneAmerica is collaborating with Morningstar Investment Management to provide recordkeeper services to RIA firms in a white-label version under the RIA’s brand. The advisor managed account service uses Morningstar Investment Management’s managed accounts user interface and serves as the fiduciary for portfolio assignment and other recommendations. The RIA firm is the 3(38) fiduciary for fund selection and asset allocation decisions.

Nelu Diversified Consulting Solutions announced the launch of its diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I) certification suite for benefit plan sponsors, service providers, and individual benefit practitioners. Nelu’s Certification Suite aims to improve inclusion in benefits design and delivery, and increase diversity in benefits and benefits-adjacent industries. Pre-launch, Nelu has signed multiple plan sponsors and service providers for certification and has partnered with credentialing organizations in the United States and the UK for distribution of its Certification Suite.

Luma Financial Technologies announced a new feature, annuity replacement analysis, within its comparison tool, Luma Compare. Advisors can compare a client’s existing annuity product features, fees and values to a proposed annuity product replacement, including 1035 exchanges, taking current and future market scenarios into consideration, as well as an individual’s current income and death benefits.

Hydrogen Health announced the launch of its Virtual Primary Care offering for self-insured employers and insurers through its partners and their affiliated clinical providers. Hydrogen has also expanded its affiliated clinicians services to enable end-to-end diagnosis and management of more chronic conditions.
