What’s the good news, ladies? Springtime(ish)

Whether it’s with a new workout routine, marketing strategies or plans for the future, these two ladies definitely inspire me to look for my “next.” The stories that they share are a good reminder that no matter what is going on in the world, you can make your little corner of it a better place.

Not that you want to hear me talk about the weather but come on … is it spring time or winter?  Last week in NYC was great, high 60s and 70s and then yesterday there was snow in the area!!!  But as we look to spring for new opportunities, in person conferences and summer on the horizon, I see many people getting motivated.  Whether it’s with a new workout routine, marketing strategies or plans for the future, these two ladies definitely inspire me to look for my “next.”  The stories that they share are a good reminder that no matter what is going on in the world, you can make your little corner of it a better place.

I had a mentor who once told me “Every day we choose to become better or worse.”  I’d like to introduce you to Jolene and Julie, both incredible women who are choosing the former and striving for greatness along the way.

Jolene Bibian, CEO & Founder, Mills + Maple Insurance Solutions

“This year, I brought on my 100th small group account! Emerging from the pandemic with my employer clients and their employees is something I’m tremendously proud of. It was a time of sink or swim for a lot of people, including myself. Having just launched my company in 2019, seeing how impactful my role was to HR professionals and employers is both humbling and motivating. I know that I can not only survive hard times, but I can thrive and be a light to lead others as well.”

Julie Rowlands, HealthEquity

“My big accomplishment and win this last year was putting my mental and physical healthahead of everything, which led to a healthier and stronger mind and body.  I made the decision to join not only a gym but a family of strong-minded humans who replaced “I can’t do or lift that” to “I won’t know until I try and work for it!”

This allowed me to be more present at home for my family, a better teammate at work and a solid partner for my groups and brokers. With this positive outlook, I ended up being the #1 Regional Sales Director on my team for fiscal year ‘22.  Now, it has set up my goals to be even higher in 2022 for personal, professional and beyond.”

Looking forward to connecting with more women and peers at the BenefitsPro Broker Expo in about a month!  Let me know if you are going, as I’d love to meet up in person!  Also, make sure you attend Fast & Furious this year!!!!  Know a rockstar woman who fits the title of “Wonder Woman”?  Whoever just came to mind, shoot me an email to scombs@combsandco.com, as I’d love to connect!
