Becoming a high-performer

Top benefits professionals are those who build customer relationships and exceed revenue goals through a combination of knowledge, skills, and mindset. A high performer stands on a solid foundation, has a clear vision for their future, focuses on the right habits and disciplines, has the right priorities, and lives a life of freedom, doing what they want, when they want, with the people they want.

Building a solid foundation requires you to know what drives you to stay focused and motivated as you pursue your goals. You must align your passions with your purpose, enjoy the journey as well as the destination, and hold tightly to values that keep you true to yourself.

Creating a vision for your future requires you to set clear and specific goals and work towards them with a sense of purpose and direction. This helps you to stay focused and motivated and make better decisions that align with your desired outcome. It can also help you anticipate and overcome obstacles and measure your progress and success more effectively.

Focus on habits and disciplines that will help you to increase your productivity and achieve your goals. It’s also important to be intentional about how often you execute these habits and disciplines, as well as avoid any that may be detrimental to your success.

Commit to priorities and be intentional about how you spend your time. This includes identifying your roles, both professional and personal, and determining which role is most fulfilling to you. It’s also important to be intentional about what you say yes and no to in order to prioritize your time and energy.

Eliminate distractions that may impede your progress. By eliminating distractions, you can focus on the things that matter most to you and make the most progress toward your goals. Focus on freedom and those things that allows you to do what you want, when you want, with the people you want. Not only is freedom the greatest achievement, it’s also the greatest way to achieve.

Maintaining high-performance

Becoming an MVP is reserved for the best there is, but maintaining that status is rarified air that few ever see. That is why the rewards in this category are the greatest. Maintaining this status will require you to reflect, reinforce, and realize the effort you commit to your craft.

Reflect on your wins and losses, achievements and failures, to help you understand what’s working and what’s not. This will require personal evaluation and external objectivity in order to maintain momentum.

Realize why you got the results that you did. Both the greatest and worst moments of your life, personally and professionally, happened for a reason. They can be used as opportunities to learn and grow in order to become the best you can possibly be.

Reinforce what’s most important to you in your life. You should be doubling down on what you care most about, are best at, and desire most, in order to ensure that you are consistently operating as the best version of yourself.

Reinvest in your growth and development, whether through continuing education, networking, mentorship, or coaching. It’s important to continuously invest in yourself, preferably with objective resources, to ensure that you are constantly growing and improving and never getting complacent.
