Patients in Texas will soon start noticing expanded urgent care options, thanks to the recently announced partnership between Baylor Scott & White Health and NextCare Urgent Care. The state's largest not-for-profit health system and one of the country's leading privately held urgent care providers plan to integrate their offerings at 41 urgent care locations in such fast-growing cities as Houston, San Antonio, and Abilene over the next several months.

The goal is "to bring even more access points to patients in need," according to NextCare CEO Derek Newell. "By joining forces, Baylor Scott & White Health and NextCare will accelerate their goal of providing customer-centric, high-quality health care to as many Texans as possible."

Tempe, Ariz.-based NextCare combines virtual care with in-person urgent care settings to deliver what the company says is accessible, affordable, and high-quality health care to millions of patients with 170 clinics in 12 states. In addition to Texas, it has clinics in Arizona, Colorado, Kansas, Michigan, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Wyoming.
