What’s the good news, ladies?  September edition

Arti and Talia have both hit their strides working toward their passion and advocating for others.

Advocacy and passion: two pretty big words that can conjure up emotions just by hearing them.  When you know you can advocate for others and make an impact, this fuels your passion to continue in this pursuit.  You can also reverse it and look at it another way: When you have a passion and desire to make an impact, this can lead to opportunities to advocate for others that you may never have imagined. Whether the proverbial chicken or egg came first, each can be looked at as the equation to lead to a rewarding professional life.

These were the words that came to me when I had the pleasure of interacting with both Arti and Talia.  These women have both hit their strides working toward their passion and advocating for others.  They are on very different professional paths in our industry; however, they are focusing on a journey where they are individually fulfilled and rewarded by having a focus that resonates with them on a deep level.  Bravo to the work they are doing in the industry to help others lead happy and healthier lives.

Arti Thangudu, MD

“My company was born out of a belief that my patients deserve the best care. The U.S. health care system makes our diabetes and endocrinology patients sicker. Worse, it blames them by calling them “lazy,” and “non-compliant.” I reject this. Nobody chooses illness. I believe that expert, supportive, accessible care makes patients better. I proved that belief to be true by turning patients who the health care system failed — poorly controlled diabetics with complications, hospitalizations who felt hopeless — into healthy, thriving individuals in control of their diabetes and health. My model works so well that a number of employers have adopted my program and are enjoying similar effects in their employees and the cost savings that comes with it. I’m thrilled about the future and the opportunity to deliver health and happiness to as many people as I can!”

Talia Hansen, Taylor Insurance Services

“As a young woman with the whole world ahead of me, I fell and tripped into the perfect industry for someone seeking to help make a difference in the lives of their community.  I became licensed in the past year and joining a thriving brokerage has proven to be one of the most successful choices I have made.  I have learned to listen and develop strategic plans that can save local businesses and employees thousands upon thousands of dollars in health insurance each year while tailoring their benefits packages to work for them. Being able to work hard, play hard, and earn my keep has landed me exactly where I am meant to be:  a career I can pursue with passion. I can’t think of a bigger accomplishment than finding a purpose that serves others in today’s world.”
