Employees and HR agree: AI increases productivity

Three out of four employees use artificial intelligence tools at least once a week in their work.

Artificial intelligence is changing the way people work and many employees believe it might be for the better. Digital tools are being used in work environments now, more than ever before.

A recent study conducted by Leapsome, a people enablement platform, found that three out of every four employees rely on AI-based software to perform their duties at work at least once a week. Of those employees, 85% reported that the use of AI technology improved their overall productivity at work. Of the remaining employees, only 3% believe that AI has had a negative impact on their productivity at work.

As AI-fueled increases in productivity continue to grow, many workers have identified old strategies as being ineffective and archaic. The study found that U.S. employees view nearly half of their work meetings as a “waste of time,” with one in three meetings having no agenda at all.

The advantages of AI also extend beyond employees and into the realm of HR. The study found that HR leaders use AI to aid in their work at even greater levels than other employees. According to the study, nine out of 10 HR professionals use an AI-based service at least once a week.

The benefits of AI are visible, as 91% of HR leaders said that the technology has improved HR processes across the board. AI continues to create new opportunities for HR leaders to establish a more productive working environment.

According to the study, HR leaders have an incredible opportunity to leverage AI-enhanced software in order to “streamline processes, facilitate collaboration and manage projects effectively.”

Tools are already being used to streamline common HR tasks such as creating more transparent career development frameworks, providing managers with support in writing and summarizing actionable feedback as well as offering tailored learning recommendations based on individualized employee assessments, Leapsome noted.
