The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that stress-related mental health conditions, such as depression and anxiety, cost the global economy about $1 trillion in lost productivity each year. In the United States, mental health issues cost the U.S. economy $200 billion in lost earnings per year according to the National Alliance of Mental Illness. Given the post-pandemic culture, volatile world events and today's divisive political arena, some of the older guidance may not suffice.
