Growth and determination

Whether you’re networking or relaxing this summer, it's important to remember the inspiring journeys of individuals who are making significant strides in our industry.

Queue Alice Cooper, because in most places, ”School’s out for summer!” Should we pause for Gen Z (and probably a few younger Millennials) to Google this reference?  Like Mr. Cooper, many of my male counterparts are hitting up the golf courses right now and taking the opportunity to network in a different way.  Any of you ladies doing some summer networking in a different way?  Our office is across from Madison Square Park in NYC, and when the opportunity presents itself, I try to meet up for a coffee and sit in the park just to enjoy some fresh air!  I also think summer is a great time to hit up some conferences for professional development and meet up with some peers.

And whether you’re networking or relaxing, it’s important to remember the inspiring journeys of individuals who are making significant strides in our industry. In the competitive landscape of employee benefits, personal stories of growth and determination often illuminate the path to success. Check out these two inspiring women, Arwyn Robinson of Advanced Benefits, a division of Alliant, and Nicole Triplett of Kysar Leavitt Insurance, who exemplify this journey through their dedication and passion for the industry.

Arwyn Robinson, Advanced Benefits, a division of Alliant

“I joined the employee benefits industry when I was 21 years old, thinking I would never be more than a customer service person. After 12 years of working my tail off, I’m now the Director of Marketing at my company and work closely with our executive team on strategic initiatives. I even went back to college for my bachelor’s degree and am currently working on my master’s degree!

“I could never have done it without amazingly supportive women and my husband in my life! It feels good to feel like my future is bright!”

Nicole Triplett, Kysar Leavitt Insurance

“After entering the life and health benefits arena as an account executive in 2019, I began diving into the many layers of the benefits world. Early on, I became compelled to have different conversations with my prospects/clients regarding their health insurance options. After extensive self-seeking education on self-funding, expanding my network, growing with my account managers, and attaining a mentor, I proudly became a producer in November 2022.

“Over the past year, through a powerful collaboration with my esteemed account managers, Shawna and Nikki, we have consistently demonstrated our ability to deliver results. We rolled up our sleeves, put in the work, and emerged victorious in three consecutive large cases by BOR. Our collective efforts and shared belief in doing things differently have been the driving force behind our success.

“I have never wanted to be known as an insurance salesperson; I want to be known as an advisor who relentlessly seeks a leveled-up way of doing things.”
