The top market for "cash-for-coverage" plans may be employers that already offer health benefits, according to a new EBRI survey report.

"The best states for health care are those that make high-quality care affordable, on top of providing many options for doctors and making insurance easily accessible," WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said.

New laws restrict automated insurance decisions and AI-provided therapy, with several major requirements taking effect in 2027.

"Hospitals are facing a host of serious financial headwinds, which for some will have existential implications," said Katherine Hempstead, senior policy advisor at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.

The company already has recorded $50 million in expenses related to severance for employees who have agreed to participate in a voluntary separation program.

"As pharmacy continues to evolve beyond the hospital, organizations that align governance, strategy and operations across the enterprise will be better positioned to improve patient access, strengthen margins and support future growth," according to a new report from Vizient.
